Our Church History

Our Church has a rich spiritual heritage

Founded as a mission outreach of the Sassan Church of Edwall by Mr. Wallce Barnhardt in 1900, the present building was constructed and dedicated under the leadership of the Rev R.D. Streyfeller in 1903 and was known as Grace Evangelical Church and was part of the Evangelical Church denomination.

In 1930 the Sasson church in Edwall merged with our Reardan church. The Evangelical Church denomination then merged with the Church of the United Brethren in Christ denomination in 1946, and the merged Church became the Evangelical United Brethren Church.

Our Reardan church operated under this banner till 1968 when the Evangelical United Brethren Church was merged into the United Methodist Church.

Over the past several years, the denominational leadership of the United Methodist Church strayed from the authority of scripture necessitating our withdrawal from the denomination which was accomplished in May 2023.

Desiring to remain true to God’s Word, and honor the cultural heritage of our congregation, we carefully evaluated the benefits and downsides of another denominational affiliation, and after prayerful consideration decided to become an independent non-denominational Bible Church.

Our name was therefore changed to Reardan Bible Fellowship in the winter of 2024.
