What we believe…
We believe there is only one eternal existing Triune God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Ps 9:8, Ps 90:2, Ps 99:9, Ps 135:6, Ps 139:7-10, Ps 147:5, Dan 2:20-22, Mal 3:6, Mt 28:19, Tit 1:2, Heb 1:2, 13:8, Rev 1:8
We believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, the Messiah, born of the virgin Mary, Jesus is both fully God and fully human. As the Word made flesh, the Son is the perfect mediator between God and humanity. He is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being.
Is 7:14, Matt 1:18-25, Jn 1:14-18, Jn 1:29, Phil 2:6-9, 1 Tim 2:5-6, Heb 1:1-14
We believe the Holy Spirit is a divine Person, equal in nature with God the Father and God the Son. The Spirit had an active role in creation and in the inspiration of the Scriptures. He convicts sinners, guides humans into truth and regenerates believers to new life, baptizes them in Christ and serves as their assurance to eternal life. Believers mature in their faith through the work of the Spirit, who produces His fruit in them. The Spirit also gives gifts (special entablements) to each believer for ministry to the body of Christ.
Psalm 139:7-12, Jn 14:16-17, Jn 16:13-14, Rm 12:6-8, 1 Cor 12, Gal 5:22-23, Eph 4:30
We believe in the garden of Eden, Adam and Eve were given a choice to either follow God’s instructions or violate them and choose their own way. They disobeyed God and immediately they ceased to be what they were made to be and became distorted images of God while also fracturing creation. Their disobedience was punished with death, both physical and spiritual. Since we are descendants of Adam, we inherited this sinful nature which produces acts contrary to God’s desire. As a result, we live in a state of sin and are separated from God and under Divine judgement.
Gen 3. Rm 5:12-21, Rm 6:23, Rm 8:19-22, Eph 2:1-3
We believe that while dead in our sins and enemies of God, Jesus Christ came to make us right with himself. He lived a life without sin and died for our sins according to the scriptures. That he was buried, that he was raised from the dead on the third day, and now, by grace, freely offers forgiveness and eternal life to all who are prompted by the Spirit of God through faith for the forgiveness of their sin. Salvation is found in no one else but Christ alone.
Jn 1:12, 14:6, Acts 4;12, Rm 5:1, 5:8, 2 Cor 5:19-21. Eph 2:8, 1 Tim 1:15, 1 P 2:24
We believe the Church to be composed of all who have saving faith in Christ. As the body of Christ, the church is to fulfill Christ’s mission of making disciples throughout the earth.
Mt 28:19-20, Eph 2:11-22, 1 Cor 12:12-31
We believe Gentile (non-Jewish) saints have been grafted into the New Covenant Promise made to Israel and that the physical land promises made to Israel are still in effect. We therefore believe the Church and Israel to be two separate entities. The Church has not replaced Israel, and God has a distinct plan for both.
Gen 12:1-3, Gen 15:18-21,Gen 17:3-8, Deut 29, 2 Sam 7:9-17, 1 Chron 17:11-14. Jer 31 -34, Eph 3:9-11, Eph 5:23-24, Rev 19:7-9
We believe God has revealed himself to us through his Son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, the Holy Scriptures, our inborn conscience, and through creation.
Jn 1:18, Heb 1:1-3, Rm 2:14-16, Rm 1:19-20
We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, trustworthy and true, without error, Word of God.
Prov 30:5, 2 Tim 3:16
We believe God created humankind , both male and female, in His image for His glory. Adam and Eve, the first humans, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers (or stewards) of the rest of God’s creation.
Gen 1 and 2, Ps 8:4-8
We believe upon placing faith in Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, you become a new person in Him. We start this new life as spiritual infants and over time we mature into spiritual adults. Spiritual growth comes through studying the Word, worship, prayer, serving God, and sharing in the companionship of other believers. We are also to flee evil influences and practices which hinder our growth. As a result, through the power of His Spirit, God starts to transform and mold us into Christlike people. However, because we are fallen and sinful creatures, spiritual perfection is not possible in this life. Upon death, Christ will deliver us from our sinful nature, and we will be fully like Him.
2 Cor 3:18, 2 Cor 5:17, Phil 3:12, Heb 10:14, 1 Jn 2:12-14
We believe communion to be a memorial to remember Christ’s death and resurrection and the gift of salvation he imparts through faith. Communion should be regularly observed and there is a great blessing to all who partake.
Baptism means to identify with. We believe baptism to be a public ceremony that acknowledges our identification with Christ and our choice to follow Him. We believe it should follow conversion.
1 Cor 11:23-34. Acts 8:26-39
We believe God created mankind male and female and that God has established marriage as a lifelong, exclusive relationship between one man and one woman, and that intimate sexual activity is designed to be enjoyed within the boundary of marriage.
Gen. 2:24-25; Ex. 20:14, 17, 22:19; Lev. 18:22-23, 20:13, 15:16; Matt. 19:4-6, 9; Rom. 1:18-31; 1 Cor. 6:9-10, 15-20; 1 Tim. 1:1-11; Jude 7
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, his ascension into heaven, and his present life there as our high priest and advocate. He is returning one day to judge the living and the dead and to usher in His Kingdom on earth.
Mt 25:31-46, 1 Cor 15:12-58, 1 Thess 4:13-18, 1 Thess 5:1-11, Heb 4:14-16, Rev 1:4-7, Rev 19:11-21, Rev 20
